Monroe City Police Department sees promotions of three officers

The Monroe City Police Department (MCPD) has recently promoted the following officers.
•Officer Travis Pugh was named Captain on September 27, 2017. Pugh has worked for the MCPD since March of 2014.
•Officer Gloria Jennings has been given the title detective. She has worked in law enforcement for the past 17 years, recently joining the MCPD in May of 2017.
•Officer Zach James was promoted to Sargent on December 7, 2017 and has been a member of the MCPD since December of 2016. Officer James also serves on the Monroe City Fire Department as a volunteer firefighter.
Currently the MCPD is led by Police Chief Tyler Wheeler and has seven officers on staff. Chief Wheeler was elected in April of 2017. Since joining the MCPD, Wheeler has worked to make improvements within the department and for the betterment and safety of the community.
