The Monroe City R-1 High School entrance is under construction. When completed the front entrance will have a new facelift and be 100 percent accessible in compliance with the America with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.
The previous entrance was difficult for access and is something the district had been discussing for the past year explained Superintendent Dr. Tracy Bottoms. Dr. Bottoms shared, “Over time, the sidewalk had sunk lower than the curbing in front of the building. To ensure safety and to help with ADA accessibility, the district wanted to enhance the accessibility and look of the front of the high school.”
