Marion County Ag Community shows support for local teen

Nolan Pennewell shows Logan Maher’s pig during the swine sell at the Marion County Jr. Fair on Saturday, Aug. 4. The pig auctioned for $14,000.

The Marion County Fair brought the agriculture family together to celebrate local youth taking part in the education and hard work of growing future farmers for America. This year, the ag community demonstrated the great support that is given throughout the farming community. One member in particular, Logan Maher, was amazed by the support received as his FFA swine project went up for auction.
Maher, who will be a senior at Monroe City High School this fall, suffered a spinal cord injury during a diving accident over the summer while on a family float trip.
He brought his pig to the Marion County Fair with the help of family and friends and attended the fair three times. Maher is a member of 4-H and the Monroe City FFA Chapter.
