The kindergarten students at Monroe City R-1 elementary celebrated Dr. Seuss’s birthday with a ‘Green Eggs and Ham’ breakfast. On March 1, the classes invited their loved ones to come and share the morning meal together. Ms. Shannon Quinn, music teacher, served the students and their guests outside in the hallway a plate of green eggs and ham with choice of juice or milk.
After receiving their plates, the students and their guests then went to the classroom and sat at their desk to enjoy their breakfast together. In celebration, the Dr. Seuss story Green Eggs and Ham was playing on the smart board for everyone to enjoy.
The students were seen laughing and filled with excitement as they shared their classroom with their loved ones. Some children were even seen shedding a few tears as parents had to leave so the school day could begin.
