Brian, Betty and Brett Bode celebrate upcoming adoption benefit with HLGU student, Sierra Brown.

A Hannibal LaGrange College University(HLG) senior, Sierra Brown, has decided to use her education by organizing an event with the compassion of giving. A senior project is required for her degree in Media Communication. She could have choosen a much easier route, such as a slide show or presentation, but instead Brown shared she wanted to host an event to bring Christian music to the Hannibal area for a fantastic cause. The James 1:27 Music Festival will be held on October 20 at the Foster Student Center, HLG Campus, Hannibal.
Brown explained, the theme verse James 1:27 was chosen because it reads how we are to help orphaned children. Brown chose to help a local family with adoption fees. A family she is very close to and cares for very much. Brown stated, “I knew I wanted to do a music festival to help an adoption agency in some way. When I learned the Bode’s were getting the opportunity to adopt a baby girl, I knew my senior project was to help with their family adoption.”
