Hassard Elevator celebrated 100 years of business on the evening of August 23. Despite the heat, the event saw more than 500 guests. Guests were invited to sit under a large tent to enjoy a meal and live music entertainment. The music included singing, harmonica and several other instruments played by Chris and Lloyann Akers, of Paris. The Holy Rosary PTO provided drinks, sides and assisted with serving the meal. Ritter Brothers prepared the pork steaks. The drink station was run by the help of Steve Buckman and Bob Kendrick.
Prior to the event the Knights of Columbus members were generous by setting up tables and chairs, then afterwards picking them up. Aaron Benson stated, “We really appreciated the help with the tables and chairs from the Knights of Columbus.”
