The magic of Christmas can be felt as a small boy gazes on while Santa travels on the front of a firetruck during the annual Monroe City Christmas Parade.

The Christmas spirit filled the Community on Saturday, December 2, as several members took part in events happening throughout the town. The Monroe City Educational Travel hosted a Breakfast with Santa at the Nutrition Center. Children were able to come and see Santa and then enjoy a breakfast with family and friends. There were pancakes, sausage, fresh fruit, juices and milk served for the morning meal. Each child received a candy cane after visiting with Santa.
Later in the evening the streets were filled with people anticipating the annual Christmas parade.
The parade started with Hannah Wheeler and Hannah Ketsenburg carrying the chamber of commerce’s banner leading the way. The Monroe City Police Department and Ambulance District rode through as well with the police department also assisting with directing traffic so everyone could enjoy the event.
