The Monroe City Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Christmas Parade on December 1 at 7 p.m. during the holiday kickoff weekend. This year’s annual them will be “All I Want for Christmas”. Organizing the parade is Connie Painter, stating, “I picked this theme because ‘All I Want for Christmas’ is to see everyone get involved for this year’s holiday festivities and parade, including all City employees and City officials.”
Painter announced this would be her last year leading and organizing the parade. She stated, “I have met a lot of good people throughout the years. Monroe City has always participated, making the parades a wonderful addition to the holidays. Janice Schnitzler helped to get me started. I couldn’t of had a better person to lead and teach me how to handle these situations.”
