Register to vote in the April Election by March 7.

The New Year will bring new officials to the community. As April approaches, there are several seats to be filled.
This year the seat for mayor will be on the April Ballot along with an Alderman for each of the three wards as well as the City Marshal position.
Currently, Neal Minor holds the position as Mayor, but has decided not to run for re-election related to his campaign for State Representative. The deadline to run for any of the municipal offices is January 16.
A mayor is defined to be the highest-ranking official in a municipal government of the city or town. The mayor of Monroe City is selected by a direct election by the public and chairs a multi-member governing body made up of the board of aldermen and is advised by the city attorney.
