Alice Bastian celebrated her birthday on Friday, September 8 turning the age of 106 at the Monroe City Manor Care Center. Employees and family gathered together in the dining room to enjoy cake and presents. Alice was crowned with a tiara and was all smiles as she blew out her candles and tasted the icing before getting her own piece of cake. She stated, “This is really good cake.”
The Manor’s activity department made picture boards of memories Bastian has made at the home. The pictures revealed a woman who loves to smile, hug and play cards. Her son, Cecil and his wife, Peggy were present for the party and stated, “She loves to play cards. We come out here every Friday to eat and play cards with Mom.”
