The 2018 Prom King and Queen were crowned on April 28 at 11 p.m. with several parents attending to watch at the dance. Kinged was Dawson Shively and crowned Queen was Shardae Murphy as royalty for the evening. Murphy commented, “I wouldn’t want to be Queen to any other King.” The two took a few turns on the dance floor as the new Prom King and Queen Royalty for Monroe City High School.
Earlier that evening, local teens came dressed to go Rollin’ on the River, as they arrived for the 2018 Prom hosted by the Junior class of the Monroe City High School. Locals lined the doors to the middle school, standing outside, awaiting the doors to open to grab seats for the annual promenade.
